I am a freelance writer specialising in food science, food technology
and microbiology. A scientist turned writer, I spent many years working
as a microbiologist in the food industry acquiring the practical experience
that I now draw upon to help explain complex ideas and information to
different audiences.
I have written news and feature articles for the trade press on a range of topics, including food safety and microbiology, packaging and processing technology, sustainable food production and food labelling. I write a regular column for an established European trade journal and I have co-authored and edited several books on food safety.
